Super Girl to the Rescue

A month ago, Ellie saw a Super Girl costume at Target and was completely inspired.  One issue:  the 7 year old on the costume package looked like a street walker.  When you’re four, the last thing you really want is for your child to dress like a hoochie mama.  Plus, it was $30.

So, I promised a Super Girl costume.  On an errand at Walmart, we snagged a $5 Danskin t-shirt and later bought a yard of metallic fabric.  With a bit of creativity and a lot of determination, what you see is a $10, homemade Super Girl costume.

When I showed it to Ellie, she was so pleased… except for ONE thing.

“Hey, Mom,” she said, “just ONE thing.  How are you going to sew the fake nails?”
