Toys Worth Fighting Over
When purchasing toys for my little one, I prefer to buy toys that encourage problem solving or foster open-ended play. There are so many toys on the market that I don’t particularly understand, like a doll that sings a song from its television program with its arms outstretched. I wonder how educational or fun it is to push the doll’s foot and watch her dance? How long will the magic last at $29.95?
Long before there were toy companies, children played. I’m not saying that toys are bad — no way, baby! We love toys! In fact, we’ve got some favorites that I want to share with you. Today I’m bringing to you the most fought over toys at preschool. Everyone wants a turn & no one wants to share… that’s how much fun they have with these!
First up, the Farm Puzzle! While Simon was putting the pieces back together this morning, Babycakes climbed onto the table, lunged at the cow and said, “It’s my puzzle!” like a wicked stepsister from Cinderella. Uhm, share Babycakes!
Another toddler favorite is the Melissa & Doug Grocery Cart. They love it because it looks like the real deal — I can’t tell you how many times I’ve caught them trying to get IN the cart. The cart has features that prevent tipping, but it can still fall over with a toddler pushing it at 30 mph through the house. Hit a scatter rug and it WILL fall over! The littles one are having a blast taking turns pushing Elmo around the house and “buying” items to throw in the cart. If you like it, the price through my OpenSky shop is $10 LESS THAN the specialty toy store down the road. Just click the photo below to get more info.
If you’re in the market for birthday or holiday presents, I highly recommend these two great toys!
