Things I Love Thursday: The Boys of Fall

by Sara on August 12, 2010

I’m linking up to The Diaper Diaries’ series:  Things I Love Thursdays

Today, I’m bringing you Kenny Chesney’s video for his newly released song, “The Boys of Fall.”

When it comes to football, I’m on the sidelines, on the outside looking in; but from where I stand, I have a different perspective of the game.  It’s not *just* a football season — it’s a season of life.  A season that lasts only 4 years, yet impacts the men they become & the fathers they become.

“Each of us has a spark of life inside us, and our
highest endeavor ought to be to set off that spark in one another.”
– Kenny Ausubel

I *heart* this song! So true! There’s such a connection that those players – on any team – get from their teammates and coaches. It’s a true home away from home feeling.

While we don’t belong to a football family the way you do, my husband and I are huge football fans and get excited each fall, when we hear the college football music on ESPN. :) We attend as many games as we can, and this past January was the first time we hadn’t been to a bowl game since we started dating. How strange! Just this past weekend, as the season opened, Jim looked at me and said, “Do you think Molly will love football like we do?” Until that point, it hadn’t occurred to me that she wouldn’t!
