It’s a rainy day here in the South — the girl & I are trying to decide if we should venture out into this wet, humid mess or continue our morning of coffee, jammies, & Cinderella. She’s watching Cinderella — I’m daydreaming about Fall. Who else is longing for cool, crisp afternoons? I love all the smells of autumn that creep into our house when the windows are opened wide.
In the coming weeks, I’m hoping to bring you a regular “Game Day Style” section to this blog for all you google searchers who don’t know if you should wear this:

Or this:

to a football game. Of course, it all depends on your team colors, too! If you need suggestions, leave a comment or send me an email with your team colors and I’ll put together a game day outfit just for you! Bring on the orange & blue and the gold & black. Let’s see what we can put together!

Hi, Robin! We’re red, black, & white, too! So much better than the orange & blue I had to sport before…
Fall is absolutely my favorite time of the year! I love the crisp air, the leaves turning colors, and the clear blue sky.
And I do enjoy football! I don’t always fully understand but it’s a real sport! It takes talent!
And I like the second choice for your outfit!
Hehehe…this post made me laugh. At my college (Carolina blue and white), the girls wore sundresses in the early part of the season and then jeans or khakis with a sweater of some sort and pearls as it got colder. Then, I met my now-husband and we started going to his college football games every weekend. They wore maroon and orange; but no dresses or pearls!! He had been to a game with me at my school, so for the first game at his school, he gave me a t-shirt and said, you wear this with jeans and flip flops. It was hilarious, but I fit right in! I love to see the range of styles and outfits at the different schools. And between the freshman and the alumni.
It’s so true! Our students wear dresses and at homecoming, they really go all out! The only time I wear jeans & a t-shirt is if it’s raining, otherwise I try to wear a cute dress or a skirt. Ridiculous!
We should come to your house. KAV is begging for Cinderella, which is unfortunate since she dropped ours in the driveway and scratched it to the point of no return. Bye Bye Cinderella. Back to eBay for me:(
We are a HIGH SCHOOL coaching family, so I am usually sporting capris and a tee. My fav has been one I designed myself and had printed (and blinged, of course) that read:
MY <3(heart)Belongs To The Coach
The back says: Coach Wheat's Wife
I learned the hard way that it is better for the fans to KNOW who I am, and that they ought not talk smack about the coach around me. LOL
Since my oldest son is playing high school ball this year, I (and the two younger kiddos) will be sporting jerseys with his name and number. Our princess will be rockin' her jersey with her cheer skirt, though.

You’re right about folks knowing that you’re the coach’s wife! I sat in front of people two years ago (huge & pregnant) listening to this man talk smack. Later my husband told me that I could have said something… it’s good I didn’t. It probably would NOT have been good.
Anyone pregnant out there? I came across some really cute and creative shirts for a few schools. Check it out! http://www.preppypreggo.com
As a rule, I just don’t say anything, but at eight months pregnant with our third child I almost got whooped by some kid’s grandma because she called my husband a “GDMF idiot”…in front of my two boys! When the crowd makes my kids cry, then I speak up.
I’ll let yo in on a little trick I have discovered (besides the shirts!)…I am a rowdy coach’s wife, and a rowdy player’s mom. I have a decorated cow bell that I ring, and a small paint can with pennies inside that I shake as I am cheering for our team. Last season, I had two dads (who thought they were experts because they had coached YOUTH FB) that insisted on sitting near me at our games, and running their mouths. It got to the point that everytime they started taking about Coach, I would just start ringing that bell – REALLY LOUD – no matter what was going on in the game. At first, people stared at me, but no one ever had to listen to them spew their filth anymore. It was GREATNESS!!! =o)
