Breakfast — Toddler Inspired Poetry

Chocolate milk gets in her hair
There’s banana on her face
You can try to help her (if you dare)
But she eats at her own pace
Feeding herself is the way to go
Say all the parenting books
But have they seen? Do they know?
How my carpet looks?
Oatmeal is a hand cream
And cereal’s like confetti
When there’s a toddler on your team
It’s breakfast time — who’s ready?

I love the poetry, Sara! So clever.

Molly has started finger foods and the dog is loving it! My floors and table, not so much. I can’t imagine what it will be like when she’s drinking out of a real cup and truly spoon feeding herself! Can’t they just stay little forever?!

Let’s just say that your walls AND floors will never be the same. I’m currently in hot pursuit of someone to be my bi-weekly cleaning lady. ;)
