& Other MOODS That Make My Day

I could rewrite this book for Moms…
starting with the title:
Today I Feel Fat & Other Moods That Make My Day
You just know it’s going to be a low self-esteem day when you put your clothes on and your bra is TOO BIG and your pants are TOO TIGHT. Like my neighbor said, “Sounds like a leggings kind of day!” Amen, Sister.
Since it’s Read Across America Day, I pulled out some new books from my teaching library for Babycakes and I to look at. I have always loved the rhyming verses of Jamie Lee Curtis’s books. Plus, that nutty & moody little girl really cheers me up!
I often rewrite the verses in my head to suit my own feelings — (the women in my family often speak & think in nursery rhymes and story books.) For example, yesterday:
Today my mood’s bad. I feel grumpy and mean. I keep picking up toys & it still isn’t clean. The baby awoke me at quarter past four. I need a long nap but there’s kids at my door.Of course, I never stay grumpy for long!
Today I am joyful. My mood is A plus! We went for a walk without a big fuss! We saw flowers and trees and we laughed all the way Enjoying the sunshine – we hope it will stay!Yikes! Then I put on my jeans…
Today I feel fat. My pants are too tight. I’d have to buy two seats if I went on a flight. My bra is too big & my belly looks chubby, Lucky for me, I’ve already got a hubby. Then I got an email from my new fabric distributor…
Today I’m excited there’s so much to do. I’m going to sell fabric & other things, too! I’m drawing designs for my dad to get busy, So many ideas, it’s making me dizzy!:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Does anyone else go through a range of emotions during their day?
How do you feel today?

Ha! So funny – I used to love that book when I taught first grade. Maybe I will get it out this afternoon because my hubby would say my mood is grumpy and mean!

Oh, how clever! I’m glad to know someone else’s emotion run the gamut like mine do.
Let’s see…today I have been eager, frustrated, fat, silly, and sleepy. Am I inspired enough to write my own ditty about my moods? Maybe so!
Fabric distributor?! Nice…I’ve recently started sewing so I’m eager to see what you’ll have!

Today I feel lazy I’d rather stay home,
And dial your number and talk on the phone.
Today I am missing your laugh and your face,
Today I wish you could be at my place.
Today I’m excited for your new endeavor,
Today I feel witty and a tad bit clever.
Today my mood has been brightened by you,
So thanks for the blog and all that you do!
