Teaching piano lessons yesterday was a losing battle for the Football Wife. After two hours of playing outside in 60 degree weather, my toddler was… in a word: HYPER. She was off her rocker, she’d lost her gourd, she was punch-drunk crazy.
Two minutes into lesson one, she had emptied a toy basket, flipped it over, and then used it to mount her play table. When I turned to look at her, she was just standing there in the middle of the table with a devilish grin on her face. By lesson number two, all the baskets were taken away and placed out of reach.
By lesson three, she had moved onto her wooden cart. She pushed it to the desk in an attempt to reach anything worthy of destruction. She pushed it to the piano and played a few notes.
By lesson four, we were lucky that we didn’t have to call an ambulance.
Her wooden cart has a small ledge on the inside next to the handle. She was an arm’s length away from me when she… how do I explain this? She tucked her head and did a somersault off the cart, and was completely upside down IN MID-AIR. As she landed on her back, I caught her head.
She cried really hard…
but only because we took her cart away.

Today, I shall call Acrofitness & get the girl some tumbling lessons.
Maybe next time she can stick her landing.

Cute pics and funny story about the lessons. My son has been taking some lessons at Acrofitness too. He wants to learn how to do a backflip. Looking into getting one of those mats for the house – but they are pricey — you may need one too with all your toddler’s flipping skills!
Welcome to SITS. We’re glad you joined
LOL Sounds like my Toot! Visiting from SITS, have a great day!
Loved your story. Teaching ANYTHING is difficult. Love your blog. I’m over from SITs.

Sounds like you’ve got the same model of toddler that I have. Upside: you’ll never need a gym membership.
