Polka Dots & Doggie “Scents”

by Sara on January 13, 2010

welcome

Welcome to the Football House!

Confession I have an entire bedroom in my house full of crafting supplies, paint, fabric, ribbons, stamps, decorating books, & paper goods.

There’s a creative fire burning inside of me and there was only one thing I could do:  organize a hostile takeover of the dining room.  I have tried sewing upstairs, but my toddler trashes the room with crayons & notions like Amy Winehouse destroys hotel rooms.  The dining room table is sturdy & directly across from the new and improved “music/home office/playroom”.  After I finished sewing Babycakes’ jumper, I decided to make drawstring bags to contain all her blocks.  I love polka dots.

I have a few more projects up my sleeve for today — the first being toddler sized bibs.  For the most part, Babycakes feeds herself.  She is very resourceful with a fork.  Apparently, you are supposed to let your toddler feed herself messy things, too.  She fed herself some YoBaby yesterday and her clothes and the dog’s head did not fare well.  On a positive note, the dog smelled like blueberries.

Feeling crafty?  What’s the last thing you made?

Oh I wish I had even half of your craftiness!! Let’s see, I made Sophie a pair of fleece booties and I’m working on a reversible dress. I LOVE the jumper that you made for your DD. I’m definitely asking for that book for my birthday. My sewing machine is also in the dining room :) .

I have been a jewelry making fool lately!! Unfortunately, that will come to a screeching halt next week when the Spring semester starts.

The block bags are cute…is that another project from your One Yard Wonders book?

I am not very crafty, but making something for my daughter is on my “Ten for 2010″ list. We’ll see what I come up…I’m very inspired by your creations! :)

The block bags are from another book — I’ll find the instructions and post them!

I am so inspired by this! It makes me want to get started on the curtains I’ve been swearing I’m going to make for my den guest room! I’m inspired by your whole blog! It’s so well written and clever. I am so happy I found your blog! I’m a football coaches girlfriend, and I just shared the link to your page with all of the other coaches wifes/girlfriends from his team.

So few people really sew anymore, it’s such a special craft to pass down, what a treat for your daughter!!!
