Tis the Season

I am slowly making my recovery from hosting Thanksgiving dinner.  As predicted, something went wrong but I managed to take my own advice and just have a glass of wine.  The cake I made for my MIL’s birthday didn’t quite make it onto the plate in one piece.  Oops.  Then the homemade caramel frosting hardened before I finished spreading it.  Double Oops.  Cue the Chardonnay.

Babycakes and I foolishly dove into the holiday spirit by visiting Old Navy & Target on Friday afternoon.  Isn’t that a great place to take a tired baby?  Selfishly, I picked up a new pair of jeans for myself.  They were $15!  And the Babes got a new toothbrush.  We delight in the little things around this house.

Yesterday, we picked out our Christmas tree!  Our ornaments, however, are in the attic.  Coach was supposed to help me get them out yesterday, but now he’s on the road recruiting for the new three days.  We have a few choices — risk losing a limb trying to get out the decorations on one’s own OR wait until Thursday.

What would you do?

Can you guess what I’ll do?

Now, enjoy some photos of Babycakes from her first Christmas.

  1. I’d be the girl with the broken arm, but whose tree was all decorated by Thursday.
It never ceases to amaze me how little time coach’s get to spend at home. :( I’m sorry to you.
    Love the pics of Babycakes.
