Babycakes is talking.
One problem: we need a translator. The newest addition to her daily conversation: “Ssssmee.” Sometimes it’s a statement, sometimes it’s a question. This morning she brought me a loaf of bread and said, “Ssssmee?” Is she saying “for me” or “some more” or is she the understudy for a new Disney film?
She is also saying some words that we recognize, like “mill” for milk and yesterday at the playground she said, “Ssssswing!” You probably won’t believe me when I tell you that she also kinda sorta said something that resembles “slide” & “climb”. Nothing melts my heart more than to hear her say, “Mama.”
As I reported last week, she can say “fuh-ball” but has also added “tah-dow” with her hands extended towards the heavens which is her way of saying “touchdown”. Anything to make “Dada” smile.
On our diaper run to Target last evening, she removed her shoe and began talking on her Croc-phone. Head tilted to the side, she was doing aggressive business with a company in Japan. The only word I recognized was “Hah-yo?”.

I hear her now in the dining room, emptying a bag. She has just uttered two words that I clearly know…
“Whoa! Uh-oh!”
There’s no telling what kind of trouble she’s gotten herself into!
