Balloons + Cake = Happy Baby

Preparing for a birthday party isn’t for the weak. Luckily, we decided to keep it simple. Sort of simple — except for the decision to sew our party decorations. Sewing a banner would have been much easier if my sewing machine hadn’t broken on Saturday morning. That’s how we roll at the Football House — by Murphy’s Law AND by the seat of our pants. Thankfully, a friend loaned me her machine and I was able to finish the banners. I love them. I think I might cry when it’s time to take them down.
We had guests of all sizes & noise levels. There were kindergarteners terrorizing the dog, toddlers exploring the toy baskets, big boys watching football on tv, and plenty of mommies to help cut & deliver cake.
Babycakes watched in amazement as the party gathered ’round to sing to her. I think she enjoyed the royal treatment that she received all day — a song JUST for her, ladies in waiting following her throughout the house, presents, balloons, and her very own cake. She wasn’t too sure what to think of her cake.

A few licks of icing from my finger and soon she looked like this:

On Sunday, we were all in recovery mode. That’s when we finally had a moment to choose a winner for the tricycle birthday giveaway!
