Daddy’s in the Tank

in-the-tank

On Saturday afternoon, when the sun was at its peak, our community gathered on the Town Green for Fan Day.  We arrived all decked out in our team colors ready for an afternoon of autographs, games, & a DUNK TANK.

The arrival of the football team was comical to me — 100 boys & their coaches walking single file down the street.  Traffic stopped for them to cross the street and I couldn’t help but think how much they reminded me of ducks.  Of course, stupid me said to Babycakes, “Look, it’s a parade!”  A parade … without tootsie rolls.  At least I kept that comment to myself.

The dunk tank was clearly the favorite station among every elementary-school-aged baseball player in town.  Different coaches took their turn in the tank & then finally it was our Coach’s turn.  He had no idea who he was dealing with when he began heckling one of our assistant’s son.  Pitch after pitch… SPLASH.  SPLASH.  SPLASH.  Babycakes watched in amazement.

Babycakes is really into dancing right now.  She likes when the bass is kicking & starts to shake that little bootie.  (CUTE!)  The sound system on the green was cranked up and when Chris Brown’s “Forever” came on our cheerleading coach scooped Babes up and they got down with their bad selves.

Cheer Mama said, “I think the team should walk in to this song at the games.”  Then she added, “You know, like that wedding video.”  I had no idea what she was talking about.  I googled.  Instant knowledge.  Here it is:

Do you think our linebackers could pull that off?

That picture is SO cute!!!!

And I have watched that video several times and crack up- they even invited the wedding party to be on the Today Show and had them reenact it.
