Remember Little E?
Babycakes was baptized yesterday and in honor of the day, our family came from near and far to celebrate. My parents, sister, brother, & my niece, Little E made the 9 hour trip sardined together in my Dad’s car. Luckily, his car is pretty big. When was the last time you saw a car with a hood ornament?
With so many adults coming to visit, they opted to stay in a Hoo-Tel as Little E called it — emphasis on the Hoo. When I stopped by the Hoo-tel to pick them up, Little E insisted that we ride in the Elligator. She pushed all the buttons in the Elligator. If you remember the last post about Little E, you might remember that this child never stops talking. In this sense, she is still the same. Every question you answer she follows with yet another question. Every move you make is questioned.
“Why are you throwing that away in the trash can?”
“Because it’s old & dirty.”
“Why is it old & dirty?”
“Because it’s covered in mud, green beans, & streptococcus.”
“But why is it…”
You get the idea.
The girls play so well together and Little E will often say that she wants Babycakes to be her sister. Isn’t that sweet? There are other times, however, when Little E just wants us to put the baby away. You know, like when Babycakes is trying to steal her food, toys, and wreck her stuff.
Remember Art Linkletter’s show “Kid’s Say the Darndest Things?” Here are the highlights from my own personal episode, featuring Little E:
“Aunt FW, your belly isn’t even big anymore! It’s straight!”
“What about my butt?”
“Well, your butt is as big as your belly was when you had a baby in it.”
“I think you should have two babies. How ’bout you have two babies? Yeah, ’cause if you get a nudder baby in your belly we can go to Disney World!”
“What’s ass? Who’s ass?”
“She’s touching my cards! Babycakes stop touching my cards! Just put her in bed!”
“How ’bout we move Carolina right over here in the woods.” (After an hour in the car.)

I was just thinking this morning that kids say the craziest things.
This morning Bella said to Braden in exasperation, “I’ve always been here for you.”
Obviously in the 3 years he’s been around she’s stuck by him. Through the tough times (potty training and shots from doctors) and the good (learning the Ninja Turtle theme song and eating lollipops.)
Hilarious! Anytime special showings of that show come on I’m glued to the TV. Oh, I can’t wait to hear the things my little guy says when he starts talking!
