My mom needs her

own column on this blog. 

The woman has a couple of gray hairs hiding somewhere in that head of hers and she suddenly thinks she can say whatever’s on her mind.  Here’s how yesterday’s conversation played out.  And I’ll try to be as accurate as possible, so Mom please correct me if I have this wrong. 

FW’s Mama:  How’s Miss Babycakes?

FW:  Now that she’s crossed crawling off her “to-do” list, she’s on to new tricks.  She puts any toy to her head & says, “Hah-yah!”. 

Mama:  Time to get her a little toy telephone, but don’t get her that stupid Fisher Price Chatter Phone.

FW:  Why?  It’s so cute.

Mama:  Because the cord is so freakin’ short, even a baby can’t talk on it without laying on the floor. 

FW:  Mom, it’s probably so babies don’t strangle themselves. 

Mama:  That’s ridiculous.  Have you ever seen the headline, “Baby Strangled by Chatter Phone”?
