Coach always wanted a boat (and secretly I did, too). So when the opportunity to buy a “fixer-upper” presented itself, we immediately jumped on it.
Seriously, like where do we sign and who do we pay?
While Babycakes and I were away a few months ago, Coach spent an entire Saturday getting our “new” pontoon boat ready for its crew. He scrubbed & swept, juiced it up, and took it for a spin. He was so excited! Finally, a boat…
When we returned from our trip, he drove us out to the dock to take us for our first ride. As I climbed aboard I said, “I thought you said you cleaned it.” He was stunned. Ouch. I had hurt his feelings. Apparently, I should have seen it “before.”
After getting over the initial shock of imperfect seats, I realized how much fun it is to be out on the water. Babycakes likes it, too — as long as we keep the sun out of her eyes. Doing that without a bimini top takes a lot of redneck cleverness — you should have seen us. We took some extra rope, a flag pole, an old table cloth, & the dial on the radio to create a little shade tent for the baby.
While the boat is a lot more fun than I expected, I must be honest and say that I am itching to accessorize the boat. You know, jazz it up a little. Take it from worn out to…
