Recipe for a Friday Afternoon

by Sara on June 12, 2009

How many of you live for Friday afternoons?  This sense of calm comes over me as I begin to settle into weekend mode.  The family plan for this evening is dinner on the boat — sandwiches, veggies, hummus, & bagel chips.  Are you impressed with this football family’s healthy menu choices?   We try, but don’t always succeed.  In moments of weakness, cans of Pringles seem to find their way into the boat bag.  Today, I am strong… plus, who wants to run to the grocery store on a Friday afternoon?  I’m in weekend mode…

Bad News.

Coach just texted me, “Storms developing.”  Thunderstorms are not part of my evening plan.

Maybe God could go bowling some other night or join a new league in Alabama?

Either way, the recipe for a happy & relaxing afternoon is made first, by leaving all your stress at work.  Add your favorite people, one small dog, and stir until they’re all together.  Turn on some music, slide on your flip-flops, & enjoy!
