Life without coffee, in a word, has been exhausting. One week ago, our coffee pot stopped working. I stared at it in disbelief.
Are you kidding me?
Without coffee, how would I survive? My days and NIGHTS are long with Babycakes – I NEED COFFEE. Desperately, I phoned Cuisinart.
Cuisinart: Thank you for calling Cuisinart. How can I help you?
FW: You have to help me. My coffee pot is broken and I have a baby who wakes up every two hours at night.
Cuisinart: Did you try plugging it into a different outlet?
Did I try plugging it into a different outlet? If I thought my coffee pot could be saved, I would have rewired it myself. Thankfully, my pot was still under warranty & a new machine would be shipped to my house free of charge.
Cuisinart: You should receive your unit in 7-10 business days.
Perhaps you’re wondering how I’m surviving this catastrophe? Ah, well, I’ve been planning our outings around opportunities for coffee. On a trip to Ikea, Babycakes and I sat together in the cafeteria while I downed a mug of Swedish brew & I grabbed a cup to go on the way home. On Thursday, we drove through McDonalds — 2 creams, 2 Splendas and we were on our way to a pleasant day. We actually went to church early on Sunday just so that Coach & I could share a cup. Four minutes before the procession, I was chugging coffee outside the door.
Fingers crossed, my new pot will come today. Until then, we’re off to town for a medium breakfast blend with room for cream.
